Medical Specialists Main Page Dr. Plata is a graduate of the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Senora del Rosario Medical School in Bogata, Columbia, and has had extensive postgraduate training both in Columbia and in the United States. Dr. Plata's residency was at the nationally known Cook County Hospital in Chicago; his rheumatology and immunology training was at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
Dr Plata has initially established his practice of rheumatology and immunology in Amarillo in 1996 at the VA Hospital, and since 1998 has been available for private consultation. He is available for care of rheumatic, immunologic and arthritic conditions in his office, at Northwest Texas Hospital, and BSA Hospital.
