Kaylee Shepard, MD
Internal Medicine
Born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, Dr. Shepherd graduated as valedictorian of Tascosa High School before earning her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, summa cum laude, from Texas A&M University in College Station. She went on to attend the Texas Tech School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern and Parkland Hospital in Dallas—one of the nation’s top training programs—where she also served as Chief Medical Resident.
Dr. Shepherd joined Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in 2017 as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and was later promoted to Associate Professor. She also served as Associate Program Director for the residency program, helping train and mentor the next generation of physicians.
She is honored to be the first recipient of the Abbie Madden Endowed Chair, a position established by the Madden family and TTUHSC to attract and retain physicians in the Amarillo area.
Throughout her career, Dr. Shepherd has provided care in a variety of clinical settings, including Texas Tech Physicians, the VA Amarillo Healthcare System, and Northwest Texas Hospital. She remains deeply committed to serving her hometown community through excellence in patient care, education, and leadership in internal medicine.
