We want to provide an update regarding our contract negotiations with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Amarillo Medical Specialists is continuing to work in good faith to negotiate a new agreement with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Earlier this month, Blue Cross Blue Shield provided us with a contract proposal. After reviewing it, we submitted questions to better understand several aspects of the proposal and have been actively seeking clarification.

Over the past several weeks, we have remained in regular contact with Blue Cross Blue Shield. While they have assured us they are reviewing our questions, they have not yet provided us with a timeline for completing that review or continuing negotiations.

At this time, Amarillo Medical Specialists remains out of network with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

We understand this situation has created uncertainty and inconvenience for many of our patients, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration it may have caused. Our physicians and staff remain committed to providing you with the highest quality care, and our goal is to reach a fair agreement that allows you to continue receiving care from the providers you know and trust.

If you have questions about your insurance benefits, out-of-network coverage, or your upcoming appointments, please contact our office. Our staff will do everything possible to help you understand your options and continue your care.

We also welcome hearing from patients who have experienced delays in care, difficulty obtaining medications or referrals, or other challenges related to our out-of-network status. Your feedback helps us better understand how this situation is affecting our community and supports our ongoing advocacy efforts on behalf of our patients.
