Subject:  Need to request refills by March 26

Office closure for software upgrades , and EHR downtime

We appreciate the opportunity to serve your healthcare needs. We are about to have a major upgrade in our medical software. It will offer additional features to us that will improve your care and enhance collaboration with all the doctors in Amarillo.

AMS was the first major group in Amarillo to install electronic health records, first with electronic prescriptions, Amarillo’s first health portal, and Amarillo’s first electronic controlled drug prescribing. This new upgrade will take us to the next level with multiple AI based features to deliver the best care anywhere.

This upgrade will require a few days of downtime to install from March 27 to March 31.

As a result, we will not be able to view any refill requests for medications or supplies or see any portal messages between March 27 and March 31.

If you will be needing any medications or supplies refilled at the end of this month, please CALL YOUR PHARMACY to request them by March 26.  Your pharmacy will send us a refill request if one is needed. 

If you send us a portal message, or a refill request, during our downtime, we will not see it until April 1.

If you find yourself in need of a refill, there will be a delay, as most of our offices will be closed or have reduced staff during the computer downtime. We will service your request as soon as possible after our systems come back online on April 1. If you need an emergency refill, then you will need to call and speak to the doctor on call.

We encourage you to request all refills needed this month by March 26 by calling your pharmacy.

When we come back online, we will keep you informed as we roll out new services and features, and we look forward to moving to our new location in Fall 2025 next to Sams Club.
