Dr. Ruth Grant grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin and her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. She attended medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine.

During her psychiatry residency at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri, Dr. Grant focused on women’s mental health and became certified in perinatal psychiatry. She completed her residency in 2020 and became board certified in psychiatry in 2021. She then completed her fellowship in child & adolescent psychiatry in 2022 at the University of Missouri School of Medicine.

Soon afterward, Dr. Grant returned to Amarillo to fulfill her dream of providing compassionate mental health care to the women and children in her hometown. Dr. Grant has experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions including mood, anxiety, and trauma and stress-related disorders, schizophrenia, substance use, personality and eating disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity, and autism spectrum disorders. She understands that achieving mental wellness takes a village and is happy to collaborate with members of your treatment team (physicians, therapists, caseworkers, guardians, teachers, family members, nutritionists, etc.) to provide integrated and patient-centered care.
