Freida Toler, MSN, FNP-BC
Freida Toler was born in Albuquerque New Mexico and raised in Grenville New Mexico. After graduating from Des Moines High School in Des Moines New Mexico, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1998 and a Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2010, both from West Texas State University.
From 1984 to 1998 she served as office manager for the Doctors Clinic of Amarillo. After graduating with her BSN in 1998 she started her professional nursing career. She served as nurse manager for BSA GI Lab, followed by opening ADC endoscopy lab in 2006 with Amarillo Diagnostic Clinic. Following her MSN/FNP graduation she became board certified with AANP in 2011 and began her Nurse Practitioner Career in Family Practice in March 2011.
Since December 2015, Freida has worked closely with Dr. William Biggs, MD specializing in Endocrinology. She remains committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to the Amarillo community.
Freida is an active member of the Panhandle Nurse Practitioner Association serving on this board for over 10 years, Texas Nurse Practitioner Association including serving on the nomination committee, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She was voted Nurse Practitioner of the year in 2016. She is past board president of Family Support Services of Amarillo.
She published an article in JAANP in 2015 titled: “Females with Down Syndrome”.
She is married to David and they have 1 son. Outside interests and hobbies include spending time with family, reading, fishing and traveling. She serves as a community volunteer for various organizations.
