Dr. Bradford was born in Tougaloo, Mississippi, and graduated from the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science in Columbus in 1992. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree, graduating cum laude from Tougaloo College in 1996. Following his undergraduate studies, he spent two years at the National Institutes of Health in Rockville, Maryland, conducting research and contributing to published work.
He then attended the Virginia Commonwealth University / Medical College of Virginia School of Medicine, earning his medical degree in 2002. Afterward, Dr. Bradford and his wife moved to Amarillo, where he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2005, serving as Chief Resident in his final year.
Dr. Bradford is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds licensure through the Texas Medical Board and Drug Enforcement Administration. He specializes in Primary Care Internal Medicine for adult men and women, with a passion for functional health and patient-centered care.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Bradford has contributed significantly to the Amarillo community. He has served as Deputy Public Health Authority for the City of Amarillo since 2009, was a member of the Greater Amarillo Medical Reserve Corps, and provided direct service as a Hurricane Katrina responder in 2005. He maintains certification in Basic and Advanced Disaster Life Support.
Dr. Bradford’s leadership extends into hospital and academic settings. He has served as Medical Director of the Stroke Program at Northwest Texas Healthcare System, Chairman of the Bylaws Committee, and faculty presenter for the Veterans Health Administration eHealth University National Meeting. Internationally, he has presented at medical conferences in Belarus and Russia, addressing health issues in the wake of the Chernobyl disaster.
His dedication has earned him numerous honors, including being named Physician of the Year by Northwest Texas Healthcare System in 2011, recognition on the Texas Super Doctors “Rising Stars” list in Texas Monthly (2012–2014), and election as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) in 2009. During his residency, he was awarded the Resident’s Choice Award, the Internal Medicine Teaching Award, and the George Kollmar Award, underscoring his excellence in both patient care and medical education.
Dr. Bradford continues to combine his expertise in internal medicine with his commitment to service, education, and advancing healthcare in the Amarillo community.
