With 29 years of experience, Dr. Janet Schwartzenberg has dedicated her career to helping patients with arthritis and autoimmune conditions live healthier, more comfortable lives. She joined Amarillo Medical Specialists in 2014.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Schwartzenberg earned her medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. She completed her training in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Recognized as a Texas Monthly Super Doctor for 12 consecutive years (2004-2015), she is known for her expertise and her compassionate approach to care. She works closely with patients and their families to explain conditions clearly, answer questions, and create treatment plans tailored to each person's needs.

In addition to her private practice, Dr. Schwartzenberg serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Texas Tech Internal Medicine Residency Program, overseeing residents who shadow her in clinic. She also gives back to the community as a volunteer physician with the Heal the City program, where she regularly provides care to underserved patients.

She is board-certified in Rheumatology and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, the American College of Physicians, and the Potter-Randall Medical Society.
